• President Don Assaid, opened the meeting at 12 PM and welcomed club members and a prayer followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

• Don Assaid reminded members to purchase 50/50 tickets and 2 free tickets today with purchase!

• We need more people to sign up for the catered Christmas luncheon 12/6/25. Don instructed members to sign up at the back table with Val Bragg.

  • Cost is $25 per person and must be paid by 11/20/25.

  • There are no extra meals so no one can join event day of.

  • Mail a check or cash to Val Bragg, 1450 Loris Loop, The Villages, FL 32162. Make check out to Virginia State Club. 

• Don Assaid then introduced the many first-time guests visiting the club today!

• Tables were then called for the potluck luncheon.

• When the business portion of the meeting resumed, President Don Assaid, presented the slate of potential club officers for 2026-2028. The potential officers included Wanda Sheffield for President, Donna Gaines for Vice-President, Sharon Kirk for Secretary, Debby Attiliis for Treasurer (not present), and Martin Kirk-Member at Large.

  • Don Assaid then requested a motion for voting to approve proposed board which was seconded and passed unanimously by voice vote of all members present.

• Members were reminded all that 2026 dues are $15 each and to see our treasurer, Val Bragg to pay.

• The November 13th club trip to Grandview Clydesdale Farm is a go! Should be a great excursion!

• Danny Bragg reminded everyone that we are collecting monetary donations for our very worthy charity, Samaritan Inn. Samaritan Inn is part of the Christian Care Center in Leesburg which is a transitioning housing facility for homeless children and their families. Our donations will provide funds for Christmas gifts for the children and their families.

  • The goal is for our club to raise and donate $3000 this year!

  • The club approved Danny’s idea to combine our proceeds with any received from The Corvette Club and a golf group.

  • The Sleigh for kids was passed table to table and over $900 was raised today! Amazing generosity from our members today to brighten many children’s Christmas morning!

• Don Assaid also announced that one of our member’s, Nan Mercer, who is our former representative for this charity is sadly experiencing some health challenges, so cards and notes of encouragement are welcome to send to her!

• Val Bragg provided the Treasurer’s report for The Month of November 2025

  • November 1, 2025-Balance- $6888.81

• Donna Gaines introduced the new members who joined today. We warmly welcome:

• Wanda Sheffield introduced our entertainer guest of the afternoon, Clark Barrios! It appears that all the members had an enjoyable time listening to, singing along and dancing to Clark’s wide range of music!

• After the music, Clark Barrios drew the 2 winning tickets for the 50/50 raffle. 2 lucky winners took home $45 each!

• Our next meeting and Christmas/Holiday Catered lunch and holiday musical entertainment by Cathy Kerns aka New City Kitty will be held at Colony Cottage Recreation Center, on 12/6/2025 at 12 PM.
